Transforming unused spaces into collaborative third places

In partnership with:

Paris Habitat, a major social housing operator in Paris, organised its first datathon in July 2018 around the theme: building the social housing of the future. 92 participants — companies, startups, students, tenants and employees — tackled three challenges over two days, including optimising ecological performance and improving neighbourhood life.

Our team worked on the third theme: unused spaces. We built a web and mobile interface that maps all vacant locations in Paris Habitat's portfolio and automatically matches each space with the most suitable third-place usage — fablab, library, coworking, etc. — based on the space's characteristics.

I handled the web and mobile development. Out of 13 projects presented, 3 were awarded. The results were presented at the USH Congress in Marseille and covered in l'ADN.
